" I grew up in Switzerland with a camera in one hand and an ice axe in the other. I’ve lived in Alaska for the last 25 years and I’ve found my home. I’ve spent those years guiding, exploring, and taking pictures. I have built a reputation for creating compelling multimedia productions and images of Alaska and polar regions, with a passionate eye for the land and the people who call it home. With a background in photojournalism, my experience spans location and site work, portraits and landscapes, commercial documentation and aerial photography. I am used to photograph under extreme conditions, such as documenting the 1000-mile Yukon Quest International Dog Sled Race in minus 50 degree weather. As a contract photographer for the Associated Press, I have provided photos for the Washington Post, the L.A. Times, CNN.com, and dozens of smaller newspapers.

I have also worked as a mountain guide on Mount McKinley and as a wilderness guide throughout the state. More recently, I was hired to be the photographer of an international expedition retracing the first scientific journey to Antarctica. In spring of 2012, I returned to Antarctica to work as a photo guide for Oceanwide Expeditions. Many of my stock photos are captured on these adventures. My multimedia productions have been seen by thousands of visitors to Alaska. I live in Juneau with my partner Greta and our 7-year-old son Florian.

My finely tuned project management skills enable me to deliver on-time and on-budget – every time. To discuss your next photo or multimedia project or to arrange a photo assignment, contact Laurent.
